World's tallest Ferris wheel opens in Vegas

On Thursday, September 25, 2014, the Pittsburgh Chapter PSPE will proudly sponsor a presentation on the topic of the High Roller Observation Wheel in Las Vegas. The presenters will be Mr. Daniel Schwarz, P.E. and Nick Greco, P.E. of American Bridge.   American Bridge was the contractor responsible for the construction of the 550-foot-tall wheel which features 28 rotating cabins that can accommodate up to 40 people each.  Mr. Schwarz was Project Manager during construction and Mr. Greco is Chief Engineer – East for American Bridge. The 550-foot tall High Roller Wheel opened near the strip in Las Vegas, Nevada on Monday, NMarch 31, 2014 after nearly three years of planning and construction. The Ferris wheel is nine feet taller than the Singapore Flyer that had held the title as world’s tallest observation wheel since 2008. For more information, click here.
